If you choose to use our Service, then you agree to the collection and use of information in relation to this policy. The information that we collect is used for providing and improving our service. We will not use or share your information with anyone except as described in this Privacy Policy. This privacy statement explains our policies with the collection, use and disclosure of information if anyone decides to use our app “TallyKhata”.

Our Application

TallyKhata is a free app provided by Progoti Systems Ltd. It offers micro-merchants a digital ledger where they can keep their day to day business transaction records. The aim is to help micro-merchants work offline and keep track of their sales, purchases, credit sales and credit purchases with automated payment reminders. Merchants will be able to avoid human errors and reduce cash leakage. They will now easily be able to access market and supplier offers.

The terms used in this Privacy Policy have the same meanings as in our Terms and Conditions, which is accessible at TallyKhata unless otherwise defined in this Privacy Policy.

Information Collection and Use

For a better experience, while using our app, we may require you to provide us with certain information. Right now the app requires these  permissions: Reads your contacts, internet and gets SIM card information. The in-app permissions are required for the following reasons:

• For Credit Sales we would like to bring up any contact name and number from the contact list so that merchants/users can easily keep a record of due payments. Contact List Access is required to import

• Customer mobile number
• Supplier mobile number

• The app uses other mobile financial services for various transactions. It requires an active internet connection to perform those transactions.

Information we collect from users

These are the following information we take as user inputs:

• Name
• Contact number
• MFS wallet information (optional)
• Business name
• Business address
• Number of years the business has been active
• Cash in hand (Beginning and end of business day)
• Daily transaction values (Cash sales amount, Credit sales amount, Cash in hand amount)
• Supplier payment information (Purchase amount, Payment amount, Description)
• Customer cash and credit sales information (Customer selection, Description)  
• Daily expense information (Amount, Type of expense selection)
• Customer payment request (Amount, Customer number)

Information Storage Location

The information we collect from users are stored in local android storages: sqlite and shared preferences. A background sync process also runs periodically to take a backup of the locally stored data. The process transfers data from android apps using http connections secured with SSL and authorization. The remote data is stored in a relational database.

Security of the storage

In android no app can access data of other apps. As we are storing the data in local sqlite and shared preferences, it’s secured by android OS from external access outside the app. Also this data is cleared when the user clears app data or uninstalls the app.

Our remote database is located in our privately hosted data centre secured by a VPN. There is no public access to that database.

Usage of the data

The remote database is used to backup user data and develop business insight from it. We do not share this data with anyone outside our organisation.

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. Thus, you are advised to review this page periodically for any changes. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. These changes are effective immediately after they are posted on this page.
